Make the life of red squirrels a bit easier by donating
£20 for a squirrel feeder. Our native red squirrel population has
been in decline for decades due to habitat loss and and the
introduction of the eastern grey squirrel from North America. Red
squirrels under the pressure of habitat and food loss breed less
successfully and are also less likely to survive their first winter.
Reds still survive in some areas of Cumbria. Save Our Squirrels works
with four Red Squirrel Reserves within the county, at Whinlatter,
Thirlmere, Greystoke and Whinfell.

You can help red squirrels breed and survive more
successfully by donating £20 to their cause and buying them a Red
Squirrel Feeder, thus making it easier for them to find food. Donations
are forwarded to the Save Our Squirrels project and remain in Cumbria.
