East Cumbria Countryside Project works to create a diverse and thriving rural area, with high quality landscape and wildlife, recreational access for the whole community and regeneration based on sustainable management of the areas natural resources. The area covered by ECCP includes much of the administrative areas of Carlisle City Council and Eden District Council. From the Scottish border in north Cumbria, they work down through Hadrian's Wall country, the North Pennines AONB in Cumbria, the Eden Valley and parts of the Solway basin, and as far as Kirkby Stephen, the Howgills and to the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks' borders in the south. | ||
